Our approach
Ramsgate Holdings was set up to give UK businesses an alternative to conventional exit routes. We have acquired a number of businesses to date, and our current focus is the IT sector, though we remain genuinely open to opportunities in any sector. We are a small team, and we intend to stay that way. Being small means every investment gets proper attention from people who are directly involved in the decision.
Our history
Ramsgate Holdings grew out of conversations between a small group of people who had spent years advising, running and investing in businesses, and who kept returning to the same idea. Too many good businesses were being sold to owners with little patience and even less understanding of what made them work.
We set out to be different, and that sense of purpose still guides how we work today. It shapes the businesses we approach, the questions we ask before investing and the way we behave once we are involved.

Good businesses deserve investors who take the time to understand them properly. That means listening before forming a view, and resisting the urge to apply the same formula to every situation. No two businesses are the same, and we try to approach each one on its own terms.

Between us, our team has experience across investing, operations and finance, and has sat on both sides of a transaction. We have worked on acquisitions in the IT sector and beyond, and that experience shapes how we work with the businesses we back. We try to be the kind of investor we would want to work with ourselves.
